Don't forget online stores or local price clubs

We focus a lot on sales flyers from local stores and coupons (either newspaper or printed from web). But we don't want to forget that some amazing deals can be had without using those methods.

For instance, we participate in surveys which pay out in Amazon.com gift cards. These are not percents off discounts, it's real money! But only usable at amazon.com. So, what we do is wait for deals to show up in our Amazon subscription e-mails and then buy it. As an example: we had accumulated $25.00 worth of Amazon gift cards, our favorite dish-washing tablets went on sale, we ordered $26.77 cents worth of them, got free shipping because of spending over $25.00, and with our gift card applied we paid out of our bank account only $1.77. That's for enough tablets to last us till the end of this year.

Or, consider our local price club, Sam's Club. We have to pay a yearly subscription fee to shop there. And not every bulk item packaged is actually a good deal. As an example, we can get paper towels cheaper at WAGS with a sale and a coupon any day than what Sam's charges, when looking at price per roll. But, computer printer ink in bulk will save us over the Sam's Club card fee in one purchase. So, the fee is recouped in one transaction, and any other transaction similar to that in the year will be a true savings. As another example, trash bags are best purchased at Sam's Club (for us) when priced out per bag.

You really do have to do your homework. Not all price clubs or online stores operate the same way. But, when a savings opportunity shows up at the ones you use, it can often times be a serious bargain.
