HOW TO SAVE ON SPICES! Tuesday tip

So buying seasonings is one of my worst nightmares.  There are a lot of spices out there with soy lecithin or wheat in it. Which I am majorly sensitive to.  So I finally did my shopping around and found spices at a Bargain Prices and made my own!!  No more worries about coupons or getting the right one for me.  So I am sharing my recipes and my shopping trip with you.

Here's what I bought.  I had to go to different stores because what I needed wasn't all in one store. But if you go to Aldi first you can get most of the spices there for $1.

TOTAL SPENT: $6 but up to $9.  I already had a few things on had!!

TOTAL COST PER SERVING: Not sure but I would say around the same price as when you get them on sale. .35-.65 an oz.

Aldi's had the best deals
3oz-3.75oz for $1

Dollar Tree
1.75 oz-3oz for $1

Buy for Less
2.5 oz for $.97

TACO SEASONING

This recipe makes about 2 oz.
Most seasoning come in 1oz packets.
I use about 2 Tbs per 1/2 pd meat.

2 Tbs of Minced dried Onions
2 teaspoons of Chili Powder
2 tsp of Garlic Powder or salt
2 tsp of Ground Cumin
1 tsp of cayenne pepper or paprika
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of pepper

Mix together and put in container. I save the empty spice containers and I label them with the name of the seasoning mix.

PUMPKIN PIE SPICE

This is one of the most expensive spice mix and it goes fast.  (was $7.99 an oz at Homeland!!)
Now I can make 2 oz for pennies!!
4 Tablespoons of Cinnamon
4 tsp of ground Nutmeg
4 tsp of ground ginger
3 tsp of Allspice

CHILI POWDER

1 tsp Chili Powder
2 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp of seasoned salt
1 tsp mince onions
¼ tsp of mince garlic or garlic powder
