CAN YOU FREEZE EGGS????

Can I Freeze Eggs?  Yes You Can!

The question, “Can I Freeze Eggs?” always comes up when there is a great sale on eggs.  I wasn’t even sure of the answer myself until reader Melissa mentioned it at a Living Rich Couponing Workshop.

And, the answer is…YES you can freeze eggs but not in the shell.  Here is how:

Whole Eggs and Egg Yolks:

To freeze whole eggs or yolks crack them into a bowl and gently stir to break up the yolk somewhat.  Then, transfer the eggs to ice cube trays and freeze until firm.  Then place into a zip lock bag and put back in the freezer.  They can be kept frozen for a year, and should be thawed in the refrigerator the day before you intend to use them.

Egg Whites:

Separate the whites from the yolks and pour into ice cube trays and freeze until firm.  Then place into a zip lock bag and put back in the freezer.

Thank Melissa!
